Privacy Policy
This policy describes what Oleda (oleda.app) actually does with information today. It is written to match the current product, not a generic template.
Who operates Oleda
Oleda is operated by the team behind oleda.app. The formal legal entity, registered address and data-controller details still need to be confirmed by the business owner and added here before Oleda is presented as a fully compliant commercial service.
What we collect
- Account details. When you create an account we store the email address and password you register with. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are never visible to us.
- Website addresses you check. Every URL submitted to the checker is stored together with the domain, the resulting score and the individual check results.
- Email addresses found on public pages. When Oleda analyses a website it records the email addresses that are publicly visible on that page, along with how each one was classified.
- Professional email setup information. If you set up professional email we store the domain name, the mailbox name you choose, and the status of that mailbox with our email infrastructure partner.
- Technical logs. Our hosting and backend infrastructure keeps standard request and error logs so we can operate and debug the service.
Oleda does not run advertising trackers or third-party analytics, and it does not build marketing profiles. The only browser storage we use is what is needed to keep you signed in.
Why we collect it and how it is used
Account details identify you and let you return to saved checks. Checked URLs and their results are stored so a report can be reopened and shared by its link. Detected email addresses are what make the professional-email recommendation possible. Setup information is required to actually create and manage a mailbox for you. Logs are used to keep the service running and to investigate faults.
A check can be run without an account. Anonymous checks are stored unattached to any person until someone signs in and claims them.
Service providers
- Hosting and application platform. Oleda runs on managed cloud hosting; requests pass through that infrastructure.
- Authentication and database. Accounts, sessions and all stored records are held in our managed backend platform.
- Email infrastructure partner. Professional mailboxes are provisioned and hosted by a specialist email infrastructure provider. The domain and mailbox details needed to create your mailbox are sent to them; the contents of your mailbox are held on their systems.
- Public DNS resolvers. To check mail delivery records, Oleda queries public DNS-over-HTTPS resolvers with the domain name being checked. No personal data is sent beyond the domain.
Retention
Account records, checks, detected addresses and mailbox records are kept for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account or ask us to remove your data, the associated records are deleted. A defined retention schedule for anonymous checks and for logs still needs to be set by the business owner and stated here.
International processing
Our infrastructure providers operate internationally, so information may be processed outside your own country. The specific hosting regions and transfer safeguards need to be confirmed by the business owner and documented here.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and its data. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to object to certain processing or to complain to a data protection authority.
Contacting us
Privacy requests can be sent to the contact address published for Oleda. A dedicated privacy contact address still needs to be confirmed by the business owner and shown here.
A note on this page
This policy was written to describe Oleda's real behaviour, but it is not legal advice, and publishing it does not by itself make Oleda compliant with any particular law. The items flagged above should be reviewed by the owner, ideally with a lawyer, before Oleda takes payments at scale.
